The Sasso di Selvapiana reaches an altitude of 2116 m asl, and stands out at the foot of the most famous Cima Bagni of the Popera of Padola Group. From its grassy summit there is an excellent panoramic view over the Valgrande and the Vallon Popera, and also over the whole block of Monte Spina / Col Quaterna’. Climbing to the top does not present particular difficulties, coming from Cadin dei Bagni, however, the climb from the Vallon Popera side requires attention in two points. The first, in crossing a canal just after the Antonio Berti Refuge, and the second,
the crossing of the Camosci Fork from the north side due to the friability of the rock as well as the track which is not always evident.

We start in Selvapiana, at the Italo Lunelli Refuge and go up the path marked CAI-101, which leads to Sentinella Pass. At an altitude of approximately 1930 m asl, just before reaching the Berti refuge, we leave the road that climbs to the right and take the path, now less marked, which climbs in the opposite direction through gravels, and takes us in about an hour to the Camosci Fork (CAI-152 trail sign). After carefully crossing the bottleneck of the saddle, you quickly climb to the top of the Stone, on which a nice grassy picnic plateau awaits us.

We decide to return by continuing the CAI-152 path which descends and crosses the Cadin dei Bagni, re-crossing the Camosci Fork, this time from the simpler south side. Before going down to the valley, we go up again for about 40 meters, until we reach the bivouac Franco Piovan recently renovated. After the pleasant stop, we go back and go down along the path marked CAI-123 until we meet the pines and the first bush, where the CAI-164 path awaits us which brings us back to the starting point.
