Mount Schiaron Offroad from East (CSTM)

.CSTM Mount Schiaron can be tackled by climbing from the east. It starts on a forest road just past the locality of La Fitta in Val Visdende at the junction for Malga Mazon (1312 m a.s.l.) The gravel road winds through fir woods, gradually climbing up to an altitude of 1600 m a.s.l., then the climb must be undertaken along the gully that points to the top of the mountain without a real path. The slope is steep and the ascent requires attention in case of frost or rain due to the presence of a lot of grass. Continue along the gully until you reach the top, from here (2100 m a.s.l.) turn left to dodge the rocky jumps. Now we are on the ridge and we can admire the view towards Val Vissada. Following the grassy ridge of the mountain we can easily reach the summit.
.considerations The ascent to Mount Schiaron from East, leads to an altitude of 2426 m a.s.l.; starting from Val Visdende you have an elevation of 934m and cover 2km in about 3 hours. The descent can also be undertaken on the west side of the mountain, descending along the normal routes with CAI signs.
