The Laggio Peak of Monte Crissin

To reach the Peak of Laggio of Monte Crissin, we leave the car at the side of the road in the upper part of Laggio di Cadore. We take the forest road, marked by the CAI-328 trail, which climbs steeply and muddy towards the Zergolon. Once in the beautiful location full of private huts, at the intersection with the forest that connects Tabia’ Pramosei with Tabia’ Stareza, we continue in the same direction, climbing steeply along the CAI-329 path. Initially through a forest of Larches, subsequently through grassy slopes, finally over scree until you reach a debris drainage gully that will lead us to the first peak of the day, Monte Schiavon. Simple and very panoramic front view of Comelico Valley, Cadore and Auronzano. After a short refreshment stop, we descend a few meters walking towards the Peak of Laggio of Monte Crissin. The ascent from this point is just under an hour and winds through rocky terrain and some small, fairly firm scree. The attack to the top requires about ten minutes of simple climbing on good rock. The top of the mountain offers us an excellent view of all the slabs of the Brentoni, and an excellent view of the Cadore. If you have the appropriate equipment, you can continue towards the second peak, the Peak of Gogna descending to cross a deep crack that separates the two minor peaks, and then continue towards the top of the mountain: The Peak of Auronzo. Return by the same route as the outward journey.
